Girl Friday

Girl Friday, previously known as Cadenza Quartet, have been singing since 1997. Only two of the original members are still in the quartet, Beverley Walters, the lead and Robyn McCluggage, the baritone. During the years there have been a few changes to bass and tenor. After leaving us for a couple of years, Kerrie Studdert has “returned to the fold” as our bass….she just couldn’t stay away and
missed our quartet “family” too much. Our tenor, Pippa Clinch has been with us about 7 years, replacing our then tenor, who decided to return to England to live….although she, too, has returned to Australia.
Girl Friday have competed eight times at the Australian Regional Quartet competitions, and have, to their credit, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place medals….the whole set! Their “golden” year enabled them to compete on the International stage in Nashville USA. They’ve also won the “Most Improved Quartet” award twice. Although they have decided not to “compete” anymore, Girl Friday are still very much in demand for bookings of all kinds.
Girl Friday sing at a variety of places: Yulefest functions at the Carrington Hotel, Katoomba, political fund-raising events, regularly at Citizenship Ceremonies for Rockdale Council, Australia Day Ceremonies, concerts, Presentation Award Dinners in the presence of the Governor, dinners, with guest TV and radio personalities etc. even at the ZOO and on board boats!
They are available for bookings for birthdays, concerts, dinners…whenever you think you’d like a fun, relaxed a cappella quartet. They have a huge repertoire ranging from classical, religious, MOR, through to Jazz. They are also suitable and experienced in singing at weddings or funerals. With a lot of years experience under their belts, Girl Friday always please the audiences whenever
they perform.
